Pillow time!

Today is my day in the Holiday Lane Blog Hop!

A big thanks to Mdm. Samm of Sew We Quilt,
& Pauline of Quilt-n-Queen for hosting this fun hop,
and to Jill of Jillily Studio for sharing her wonderful pillow pattern!

This is my version of the Holiday Lane Pillow
I played with a lot of fabrics,
but just had to use this fun print by Tula Givens
from her Christmas Pageant line

I used it for the back of the pillow
and some of the little guys made it to the front
in the windows and some of the doors

This little dog is my favorite

and the little mouse is sooo cute!

 love him to!!!

…there’s a mouse in the house, lol!

I used Moda Minky for the snow
and Superior’s Silver Metallic thread…
probably the best metallic thread I’ve ever used
with only one breakage in the whole project…
….and that’s because I was sewing too fast!

I had a great time working on this project!
You’ve got to see what the other participants in
today’s hop made:

Today is my day in the UR Priceless Blog Hop!
Thanks to Mdm. Samm from Sew We Quilt
for creating this wonderful pattern
and to our cheerleader Katherine from Sew Me Something good

I get to share this fun hop day with these gals:
Day 4 – Nov. 8th
Cherry Blossoms… you are here °Ü°

I started with this little red, black, and white purse…
it took me a while to get it, he he! (okay, a few hours…)
 this is the front

 and this is the back
in the process, I learned to use a stronger thread, lol!
Purse #2… love this fabric
and just had to use the little elephants for the back
and liner

 the thread issue was solved
and time… well, cut in half!
By the time I started working on #3,
I felt like a pro, ha ha!
For this one, I used a charm pack
and was lucky to find this medallion to fussy cut
So by #4, I definitely had it down!
I think I may give this one to a sweet friend
that loves poodles!
Just wish I had bought more purse frames…
guess it’s never too late to get a few more °Ü°
If you’d like to make one of these cuties, you can find the pattern here
and the darling little purse frames here

Day Five…

…in the Leafs Me Happy Blog Hop!
and today I get to show you some
of my fall blocks °Ü°
I’ll start with these two little blocks…
I was in one of my LQSs the other day
and just kept looking at this
fun, bright fabric,
so finally, I had to bring it home
with me and make these Funky Fall Blocks
I then put them together and made this runner
That day, I also found the fabric I used
to make these fun little owls
using my Drunkard’s Path GO! dies
I had so much fun with this Wise Little Guys block,
especially when it came time for their little eyes!
When I started thinking about what to
make for this hop,
I kept thinking about my favorite things
around this time of year,
and candy corn just kept coming to mind…
so I had to make me a Candy Corn Flower Block
And to Celebrate the Color of Fall
I made this block…. love the little pear fabric
I think I need to make a few more things with
this fabric, don’t you think?
This block with it’s Gold Leaves
is made with another GO! die
in my stash…
Now this Pumpkins on the Fence Block
is not exactly “hop” block size,
but I definitely had to show it to you…
They’re supposed to be pumpkins….
my bright fabric choices remind me of bell peppers, he he!
Don’t you agree??? LOL!
My sweet friend Katherine helped us make this little quilt
at one of our Guild meetings.
And this Three Little Pumpkins runner
 started out with this block…
forgot to take pictures before I put it together….
And that binding was a bear,
but worth the trouble.
Are you loving all these Blog Hops?
Thank you Mdm Samm for making them possible
and cheering us on!!!
Now… do you remember this quilt?
Would you like the pattern?
In appreciation for you stopping by to
see all my little blocks,
I’m giving away one of my Autumn Bliss patterns
to two of my sweet visitors.
To enter, leave a comment
telling me what you love most about fall.
I will choose the winners next
Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Yester-Year Challenge

Christine over at Quilt Monster In My Closet started the Yester-Year Challenge
to get some of those UFOs older than five years finished….
and of course, there are a few of those in my closet!!!
so this month, I finished this little baby quilt that was a mystery quilt project
with my Honeybees Guild back in… okay, I know it’s been more than five years,
but exactly when??? can’t say…. lol!
And it was perfect timing…
it made a perfect baby gift for one of my co-workers!
Last year, Edyta Sitar was a guest on The Quilt Show and talked about her book
Friendship Strips & Scraps and gave ideas on hosting a strip exchange…
Yeah, I had to join their strip exchange!
I also started one with my Cherry Blossom Quilters Guild.
This is how we’re using the strips for one of the quilts in the book
(2 of the girls have already finished theirs!)
I added some peaches in honor of my sweet Georgia
and modified the pattern’s doors and windows just a bit.
My next step is adding a little more detail to the “glass”
and then will be ready to stitch down the appliques, Yay!
This is my favorite one with the little kids in the windows!
