I only had time for these quick projects,
and really enjoyed working on this little
Mini Valentine using Marjorie’s
Candy Hearts embroidery designs
that work with the Accuquilt GO! Hearts 2″ die.
I also wanted a Valentine’s mug rug,
so decided on a little quick project
by embroidering this fun design
from Embroidery Library
Would you like to make this little mug rug?
I made a little kit with the
embroidered “latte”
and 5 Fat Quarters to giveaway Ü
To enter, just leave me a sweet comment
and tell me what size and type of quilts
you enjoy making!
I’ll choose a winner next Monday, 2.18.2013
Thank you so much for visiting today!

New Blog Hop & Tutorial

Welcome to my day in
the Fall Machine Embroidery Blog Hop

I had a great time making this scarf with my embroidery machine

and Marjorie’s Snowflake embroidery design

The applique can be cut out with the Accuquilt GO! Snowflake

The top of the scarf is made with 1/4 yd cuts of (4) blue
and (1) white batik fabrics
and 1/2 yd Rose Cuddle fabric for the back

If you have a GO cutter, prepare the applique pieces
by cutting the white fabric into
(6) 4 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ squares,
fuse Light Steam a Seam 2 to the wrong side of the fabric,
and cut out with the snowflake die

Next, cut (2) 3″ strips by WOF from each of the blue fabrics

sew (4) strips together

and press the seams open.
Repeat with the remaining strips

Since the scarf is lined with “Cuddle” fabric and not quilted,
I decided to embellish with a pretty little stitch

 and
metallic thread

To avoid thread breakage,
I loosened the top tension on my machine,
used a large size needle

and sewed at a slow speed

Next, measure the width of your sewn strips,

 cut (6) blocks… mine measure 10 1/2″
so I cut (6) 10 1/2″ blocks
and arrange them as follows

Now sew them together
and embellish the joining seam

I had some leftover strips, so I cut (3) 3″ strips

to make this practice piece
Now for my favorite part… the applique
Remove the Lite Steam a Seam liner from the back of the snowflake
and finger press (do not heat fuse yet) in place onto the background fabric

Now it’s time to get the embroidery hoop ready!
Hoop a stabilizer and spray a little temporary fabric adhesive
on the center of the stabilizer

find the center of the snowflake

align in the prepared hoop,
remove the snowflake

place the hoop in the machine
and stitch the placement lines

place the snowflake inside the stitch lines
and press with a small iron

Return the hoop to the machine
and finish stitching the designs

Next, trim 1/2″ off on both sides of the scarf.

With the Rose Cuddle fabric right side up,
lay the scarf face down
and pin in place.

Stitch all around with a 1/4″ seam,
leaving a 6-7″ opening to turn right side out.
Trim the excess Cuddle fabric,

turn right side out, sew the opening
and stitch the top edges down with an 1/8″ seam.

So simple, fun to make
and super soft!

… and my little practice piece
I think I’ll make a mug rug °Ü°!

Marjorie is giving away a design from her collection of machine
embroidery designs, and the winner gets to choose!!!
To win, leave a comment telling me
which of Marjorie’s embroidery designs you would love to have
and for a second chance, comment on what kind of die
would you have custom made for the GO! cutter.
I will chose a winner next Friday, 11/16.

So glad you stopped by!

Day Five…

…in the Leafs Me Happy Blog Hop!
and today I get to show you some
of my fall blocks °Ü°
I’ll start with these two little blocks…
I was in one of my LQSs the other day
and just kept looking at this
fun, bright fabric,
so finally, I had to bring it home
with me and make these Funky Fall Blocks
I then put them together and made this runner
That day, I also found the fabric I used
to make these fun little owls
using my Drunkard’s Path GO! dies
I had so much fun with this Wise Little Guys block,
especially when it came time for their little eyes!
When I started thinking about what to
make for this hop,
I kept thinking about my favorite things
around this time of year,
and candy corn just kept coming to mind…
so I had to make me a Candy Corn Flower Block
And to Celebrate the Color of Fall
I made this block…. love the little pear fabric
I think I need to make a few more things with
this fabric, don’t you think?
This block with it’s Gold Leaves
is made with another GO! die
in my stash…
Now this Pumpkins on the Fence Block
is not exactly “hop” block size,
but I definitely had to show it to you…
They’re supposed to be pumpkins….
my bright fabric choices remind me of bell peppers, he he!
Don’t you agree??? LOL!
My sweet friend Katherine helped us make this little quilt
at one of our Guild meetings.
And this Three Little Pumpkins runner
 started out with this block…
forgot to take pictures before I put it together….
And that binding was a bear,
but worth the trouble.
Are you loving all these Blog Hops?
Thank you Mdm Samm for making them possible
and cheering us on!!!
Now… do you remember this quilt?
Would you like the pattern?
In appreciation for you stopping by to
see all my little blocks,
I’m giving away one of my Autumn Bliss patterns
to two of my sweet visitors.
To enter, leave a comment
telling me what you love most about fall.
I will choose the winners next
Tuesday, Oct. 9.
