Spring Market 2016

Well, I’m a bit late telling you about Spring Market, but better late than never, right!

My new fabric collection for Benartex’s Contempo is called Kitchen Love and is all about the heart of the home, the kitchen, inspired by vintage appliances and delicious confections. You’ll find little aprons, delicious words, tea cups and tea pots, mixers, bowls, sweet cupcakes, cherries… in vibrant teals, aquas, greens, a touch of orange and pink, and a black that make for an awesome background print in one of the quilts. There’s even a fun and quick apron panel great for Christmas gifts this year! I created several applique patterns for this collection: Kitchen Love, the quilt in the center of the image above, is a “sweet” quilt with delicious treats, a vintage mixer, scale and clock, cherries and cupcakes, and is embellished with a small amount of hand embroidery and tiny buttons made to coordinate with the fabric. The quilt to the left is one of the quilts in the “Live Simply” pattern pack and includes the “Eat” wall hanging below and four placemats; the wall sign “Home”, the tea pots and tea cups runner, and the little aprons quilt below are part of the “Tea Time” pattern pack. All patterns are now available in my shop.

Frosty Forest

So, while working on Celebrate the Seasons,
I was also creating my new Christmas line with Benartex,
Sammy, my sweet little owl from Night Owl
and his woodland friends were the inspiration for this fun
and vibrant collection
Frosty Forest was released last Fall at Quilt Market in Houston
and you can find it in stores now.
I created these three new applique patterns using the line,
Frosty’s Wonderland, a twin size quilt
Let it Snow, a tree skirt
that would also look awesome as a round runner
and Frosty, a wall hanging…
… I LOVE snowman and just had to have him!
….after that came….
Well, I’ll be back soon,
but I better focus… have several new patterns
to sew up for Sprint Market in May!
Hugs, Cherry

On my Design Wall today…

…is Henrietta! A Bunny Hill Designs pattern about a cute little squirrel
We have an abundance of squirrels in our property
and sometimes I love them and others…
well, I wont say, but….
Anyways, I just had to make this cute quilt and it’s going pretty fast!
With only 2 more background blocks to complete,
I’ll start working on the appliques tonight.
I love to store my quilts in progress in these little folders,
filled with sheet protective sleeves,
one sleeve per block
I like to trace my fusible in the evenings in front of the tube…
can’t just sit there and kill brain cells, lol
All my applique pieces have been traced, cut, and insides trimmed
– I want a soft finish. and now for the fun!
I’ll be working on this with my Cherry Blossom Quilters!

Design Wall Monday…

On my design wall today are my first two blocks for Craftsy’s free Block of the Month taught by Amy Gibson, and boy where they fun to make! -each of these blocks would definitely make great quilts.
I’m using Moda’s A Stitch in Color fabric – very vibrant and fresh against the white…
Can’t wait to work on February and March’s blocks
there are a total of 20 blocks, two every month, so I’ve got to get busy and catch up, lol!
