On my design wall…

Are you a fan of Downton Abbey?
Oh my word, I definitely am!
I even have my husband hooked, lol!
So of course, I had to make something with
the new Downton fabric by Andover…
One of my LQSs held a fabulous Downton Abbey English Tea
and I came home with the pattern to make this cute bag
And since it’s a Downton bag
it must say it all over, right?
So I’ve fussy cut one of the wedges
from this print
Yeah, it’s a bit bright next to the blacks,
but I’m keeping it…
and also using it for one of the inside pockets
Do you ever use Roxane’s Glue Baste It?
It’s perfect if you don’t have fusible bat…

made from these strip sets

fabric by Moda: Hunky Dory Jelly Roll

Check out this tutorial by the Missouri Star Quilt Co.
… you may want to make one two!
I have a little question….
Do you wash your fabric before making a quilt?
If so, why? and…
do you use a special soap/detergent?
I would love to hear from you!!!

Quilt of Valor”

Have you heard of the Quilts of Valor Foundation?
Their goal is to give quilts to all service members
who have been touched by war.
This beautiful quilt was pieced by the Lord Baltimore Women’s Club
in Delaware and I quilted it for them.
It’s now on it’s way back to be finished and delivered to one of our soldiers.
If you are interest in participating, go here for more info.

I will be announcing the winner of the Fork-n-Spoon tomorrow 🙂
Good luck to all who have entered!

On my design wall today…

…is this fun little quilt I’m working on
for my partner in my ModGal Modern Quilt Guild Mini Challenge.
For the challenge, each of the participants placed a FQ of a favorite fabric in a brown paper bag and included a little card with 5 favorite things; we all went home with a partner’s bag to create a mini quilt no smaller than 12″ x 12″ and no larger that 16″ x 16″ in size. My partner’s first favorite is travel and owns a hot air balloon; the purple fabric in the borders is hers, and the little squares on the border are old luggage tags and boarding tickets I printed on fabric. My inspiration came from a little clip art I found online.

The big reveal is this Wednesday night and I’m almost done!
Just need to quilt, bind, and label.
Hopefully she will like it!
