Me, me, me…

Today is all about Me
and these talented ladies…
for this fun, fun blog hop!
I’ve had such a great time everyday seeing all
of the humorous and very creative ladies!
A great big thanks to Amy Bradley for providing
the fantastic appliqué pattern for this hop…
Well, appliqué is my favorite technique,
but I do love my little markers and stamps,
and just had to pull out a few of these little tools
for my girl..
I drew the design! yeah, no appliqué, can you believe it?
as I was saying, I drew with pencil and added a little stamping
with a gray ink,
then outlined everything with a Uni-Pen…
Next, I added color with my Fabrico Pens….
I just love these pens Ü
(… need a few more!)
 and quilting….
then embellished my crown with a few Swarovski Crystals,
added Magic Transparent Perfect Pearl Pen to the lips,
glasses, cupcake stand, and cherries… needed a little sparkle!
and Maggie’s eye got a little shine too…
here she is as sweet as ever Ü
Yup…
I had so much fun working on this little project;
the little quilt looked so bland when I first drew it…
hubby just looked at it… and wondered… he he! he loves it!
I have to confess, I had no idea how it would turn out
…it was the last thing I colored in!
all those little squares, so I had to cheat a little
with all the little dots and squares…
I really like how it looks Ü
This is the back of…
yeah, I forgot to tell you…
it’s a composition book cover,
and “It’s all about “ME” …
…and some of my favorite things!
Oh my word, I had such an awesome time
working on it, I just had to make myself
stop! or it would have been a quilt… ha ha!
I’m so happy to have you over today
and hope I’ve inspired you to try something new!
Hugs,

I Dare to Dresden!

Welcome to my day in the Dare to Dresden Blog Hop!
Thanks Christine of Quilt Monster in My Closet,
and Mdm. Samm of Sew We Quilt for all your hard
I made this quilt while on retreat

 and loved the fabric…
it’s a line by Moda: Mama Said Sew…

so I made a little pillow to go with my quilt

of course, the idea of making a whole
Dresden quilt with this fabric
is very tempting, lol!
Then, I knew I had to make something else, he he!,
so I went on a little “inspiration” search on Google
and found this fabulous quilt

Immediately, I knew I had to make one like it!!!
but after searching for countless hours,
and having no luck finding the pattern,
decided to shop for the fabric
and make something similar…

Okay, before we go on,
please put your sunglasses on…

Alrighty, this is it:

I tried several colors for the center squares,
and orange won… again, lol!

Oh my word, I AM IN LOVE
with chevrons…

Well, last night while on Pinterest,
I found it again! and I’m so happy it lead me to the
designer’s website: Victoria Findlay
… her work is fantastic…thanks Victoria for the inspiration!

And thank YOU for taking the time
to look at my little Dresden projects!
I hope you enjoy visiting the other ladies
sharing their Dresdens today!

Happy hopping,

New Hop and a Winner!

Hello! It has been a while…

and after a very fun, successful trip to Houston,
I am so ready to get back to “normal”….
I heard someone say that “normal”
is just a setting in your dryer, he he! I agree!
… but I’ll still give it a try, LOL!

I want to thank everyone for visiting during the
Glorious Autumn Block Party hosted by Michele.
I really enjoyed reading all about what you love most about quilting!
For me, it’s the color, the fabric,
and the wonderful friends I’ve met thanks to quilting!
So…. the winner of my Autumn Bliss Pattern and charm pack is:
Rebecca Grace! She said…

“You come up with the sweetest designs,

and this tree is no exception. Adorable!

What do I like most about quilting?
I love that, unlike the hours I spend making meals that just get eaten,
washing laundry that just gets dirty again, etc.,
quilting gives me something lasting to show for my work.
And I like playing with fabric. :-)”

Love, love…°Ü°

And did you know about the “UR Priceless” Blog Hop going on right now?
Check out today’s participants… you’ll love their beautiful creations!

Day 1 – Monday, Nov. 5th

Happy hopping,

but only one more week before our next hop…
and thank you to all that left so many lovely comments
on my day of the hop
I so enjoyed reading all about what you love most about fall °Ü°
The 2 winners of my Autumn Bliss pattern are…
Gwen… she said:

One of the best things about Fall is the cool, crisp nights!
We love to sit out on the swing on our back porch,

snuggle up in a cozy quilt and just enjoy the refreshing air… 🙂

and Helen…
My favorite part of fall is–I have a list

–warm days and cool nights, beautiful color of the leafs,

the calmness all around and

hearing the sound of a football game

while diner is in the crock pot and I can sew!

Indeed, Fall is the best time of year!
Now, the 3rd winner is “me”

Yeah, Mdm. Samm made this wonderful cozy for moi!

You should see all the beautiful hand work,

the goose-down-filled liner,

the beautiful “orange” tulip cup

and then, there’s the tiny cup candle

way cute, don’t you think?

And yes, it’s all in orange!!! How perfect is that?!!!

Just lovely…

…thanks so much Samm °Ü°
I will enjoy it for a long time!
°Ü°
One of my favorite things about Fall

is the memories I have with my children…

fun costumes, going to the pumpkin farm
and apple orchards, hot cider…

long walks surrounded by the beautiful colors of fall…

I could go on and on!

Here are my little guys back in ’91

don’t they look adorable?

Hope you are having a wonderful fall season!

I want to thank Madame Samm over at Sew We Quilt
for inviting me to be a part of her amazing blog
and all of you who entered, joined, and left so many wonderful comments – I so enjoyed reading everyone of them!

And now….
…the winner of the Fork-n-Spoon tutorial kit is…
Congrats Amanda!
Amanda said: Fun pattern…would make cute napkins too!
