Hugs and Kisses…

…and a happy Valentine’s Day to you!
I’m so glad to have you over
on my day in the sweetest hop of the year

A big hug to Mdm. Samm of Sew Wee Quilt
and Soma of  Whims and Fancies for hosting this event
and darling paper piecing pattern.

Today, you’ll find many beautiful and
very inspiring projects created by these ladies:

Feb 14th

Lady Soma

Lady Laura Ann

Lady Doris

Lady Rexie

Lady Shari

Lady Cherry … you are here!

So I started with the idea of making a runner
using 2 sets of Soma’s paper pieced XOs and the heart…
Then mid-way through my runner
I decided I wanted to use more of the fabrics in the layer cake
I used to make the XOXO,
which has been in my stash for a few years
begging to be used, lol!
And since I love chevrons,
I made two rows of easy chevrons with 1/2-square triangles
oh, it just went so fast… loved it!
Of course, I love open spaces for lots of quilting,
so I added a little bit of white fabric,
and this is what my “improvised” project finished as…

then…
I still hadn’t used the little heart!
well, how about a little poem around the heart,
a few borders,
a little quilting…
the results where a perfect
Valentine’s card for my sweetheart!
Tada!

I have a little Valentine’s Treat for one of you too…
a $20 gift certificate to use in my website

I only had time for these quick projects,
and really enjoyed working on this little
Mini Valentine using Marjorie’s
Candy Hearts embroidery designs
that work with the Accuquilt GO! Hearts 2″ die.
I also wanted a Valentine’s mug rug,
so decided on a little quick project
by embroidering this fun design
from Embroidery Library
Would you like to make this little mug rug?
I made a little kit with the
embroidered “latte”
and 5 Fat Quarters to giveaway Ü
To enter, just leave me a sweet comment
and tell me what size and type of quilts
you enjoy making!
I’ll choose a winner next Monday, 2.18.2013
Thank you so much for visiting today!

Words for 2013…

It’s my day to share my words for 2013!
I have seen some awesome creations in this hop
and have been so inspired!!!
Thank you Linda of Buzzing and Bumbling

and Mdm. Samm of Sew We Quilt for hosting this great hop!

Ü
Tagxedo is the first thing that came to mind when I signed up for the hop;
it is a great way to create fun word clouds using your own words,
slogans, quotes, etc.
I imported different graphics into Tagxedo,
added my Words for 2013,
and started creating word clouds…
I used this sewing machine…
Then printed my cloud onto fabric that’s been prepared
for printing on an InkJet printer,
added a few borders and a little quilting
and just love how it turned out Ü
In 2013 I want to be more thankful,
inspire and encourage others, be kind,
be a better friend, share my passion with others,
smile and find joy in the little things,
challenge myself and others to grow and learn,
keep dreaming…
and most of all,
LOVE and show compassion like never before…
I made this table topper with a beautiful graphic made by Mdm Samm,
and perfect for a daily reminder to LOVE more in 2013!
And of course, if times get tough,
this one will help me remember to just…
Thank you so much for stopping by today!

It’s all about Christmas

And today is my day in the awesome Think Christmas Blog Hop
hosted by Lesley at The Cuddle Quilter
and Madame Samm at Sew We Quilt
Thank you both for this fun and inspiring hop!
I hope you’ll enjoy some of my little creations *Ü*
To start, I’ll show you my new Christmas dress…
and shoes….
don’t you think every girl needs a new dress for the holidays!
This little snowman just had to be the center of attention
No way I could cut him up!
Can you see the little trees in the corners?
And my little ornaments were also inspired by the fabric
to show off the cute little elves
This little angel was designed by Erin
I love all the embroidery detail
I fell in love with this clever little snowman block
designed by Shelly over at Prairie Moon Quilts
sooooo cute – it’s one of my favorites!
And the little Yo-Yo Snowmen was a project with one of my guilds
not exactly Christmas red & green, lol
I even used metallic multicolor thread to stitch the appliques!
I found this little place mat tut over at Moda Bake Shop
now I just need to make enough for the rest of the table…
And how about those wonky stars?
Have you made one yet?
They are addictive…
yeah, I’ve made several of these!!!..
Perfect for a little mug rug
Or a table runner…
So last year, I was part of a Christmas blog hop hosted by SewCalGal
and I wrote a tutorial for this Red & White Tree…
Well, a mayor quilting distributor inquired about it
and now I’m selling the patterns for the tree and this wreath!
Here it is in blue…
my sweet hubby’s favorite!
I’ve already sewn the tree 6 times!!!
yeah, I don’t think I’ll be making that one again, lol…
So….
would you like to make the tree?
or the wreath?
I am giving away a pattern to two of you!
To enter, leave a comment telling me about your favorite Christmas tradition
and which pattern you would like.
You have until Sunday night to enter!

It’s all Red White & Blue

And today I’m so happy to be part of the
Red White & Blue Blog Hop
hosted by Jane over at Jane’s Fabrics

Jane, thanks for hosting this fabulous Hop!
and thank you Madame Samm for the awesome cheers
at Sew We Quilt!
This color combination was a bit of a challenge for me…
I loved working with the reds and whites,
but the dark blues,
well, they were a bit harder!!!
…. and guess what, I really had a great time!
I actually came up with seven blocks,
but ran out of time…
…so here’s we go…
This is the first block I made – the background is paper pieced
and the eagle is a raw-edge applique
Next, I paper pieced this little airplane
and just had to add the little flag button
to the wing  *Ü*
While playing with ideas,
all I could think about was pinwheels,
so this was my first attempt…
 …then I got a little more creative
and decided my pinwheels needed to be 3-D
Only challenge here was hand stitching the fireworks with metallic thread,
but I think it was worth the trouble.
This one turned out to be my favorite of all!
Would you like to make the little wagon with the pinwheels block?
I made the pattern and a little fabric kit to give to one of you…
all you have to do is leave me a comment
telling me what your favorite dessert is!
Enter by Sunday, July 15
I’ll announce a winner on the 16
Thanks for visiting!
