It’s National Quilting Day!

Isn’t it awesome that we have a day dedicated to our fabulous art?
Yes, today is National Quilting Day!
So what will you do today?
You know it’s mandatory that you observe our special day, right?
Okay, maybe not, but for me,
I think I’ll be partying at some of my local quilt shops! Yay!
I’ve got to show you this fun little wall hanging
I started a few years ago
titled The Quilters
… that’s us, he he!
Nothing like visiting with quilty friends…
Check out those legs…
I love these little birds…
you know I just LOVE birds…
 …and trees
and how about these tiny shoes?
The Quilters is a design by Debi Hubbs

Farmer’s Wife

Are you enjoying pretty weather on your side of the world?
It’s so nice to see the sunshine and temps in the 70’s!
We’ve had one of the coldest winters in Louisiana
since I moved here and I am ready for warmer, dryer days.
I’m working on two projects that are keeping me pretty busy,
and will tell you all about them soon,
but I’m trying really hard to get in some “fun” therapy sewing
and started working on the beautiful Farmer’s Wife quilt
with my Monday gals over at the Library
The stories in the book are awesome
and to make it easier, I got Electric Quilt’s Farmer’s Wife add-on
which is perfect for piecing, appliqueing, or paper piecing the little blocks.

I’m using 3 charm packs and some yardage of It’s a Hoot by Momo

and Ginger Blossom by Sandi Henderson
since they work great together
So far I’ve cut 10 blocks
and sewn 4…
they’re so cute finishing at 6″
I can’t wait to get all 110 blocks done!

Yikes, that’s a lot of little blocks, he he!

Have you made a Farmer’s Wife quilt?
This one has been on my wish list
for a long time…
it’s so exciting to finally start working on it!
                                                             Happy Monday,

On my design wall…

Are you a fan of Downton Abbey?

Oh my word, I definitely am!
I even have my husband hooked, lol!
So of course, I had to make something with
the new Downton fabric by Andover…
One of my LQSs held a fabulous Downton Abbey English Tea
and I came home with the pattern to make this cute bag
And since it’s a Downton bag
it must say it all over, right?
So I’ve fussy cut one of the wedges
from this print
Yeah, it’s a bit bright next to the blacks,
but I’m keeping it…
and also using it for one of the inside pockets
Do you ever use Roxane’s Glue Baste It?
It’s perfect if you don’t have fusible bat…
What’s on your design wall today?
Check out what’s on these design walls over at Judy’s Blog.
                                                       Happy sewing,
