Playing with EQ

I love Electric Quilt and have been playing with it since 2005. Sometimes I do my own thing and others, I love to “sketch” ideas I see in magazines, books, etc. A couple of weeks ago, one of my quilting friends showed me this site. We fell in love with this version and, without a second thought, decided we had to make this one, a combination of “Storm at Sea” and “Snail’s Trail” blocks.
So last night, I started playing with several other blocks…

…and these are a few of my favorite layouts so far:

In case you’re wondering about all that orange…
well, for Christmas ’09, I bought a slightly bright vehicle…

…yeah, no way anybody can miss me on the road, lol!
and ever since then, I really LOVE orange, ha!

I will be paper-piecing this quilt. Would you like the block patterns?

I love the orange with the snails trail in it!!! What fun to play with the designs!

I love the brights too and have a red car. You are visible and it forces me to be a bit less heavy footed on the gas pedal. lol

My kit arrived and I am so excited about starting it. Thank you.

Just came across this post. I know it’s an old post, but wondering if you might still have the pattern? I love the orange! Thanks!

I just came across your site and am hoping I can still get the pattern for the snails tail/storm at sea quilt. I love this pattern and have been looking everywhere for it. Thank you so much 🙂

    How clever of you!
I would love the pattern. …after seeing what you can do, I think I need to look into EQ.

I also am in love with the Snails Trail/Storm at Sea combo. It won Best of Show at a local quilt show near me last fall. I would love the pattern.

I would love to get the pattern! I saw this quilt about a year ago and can’t get it off my mind. I have a King size bed and think I’d like to paper piece it.

I am in the process of collecting ideas for my Granddaughter high school graduation. I love this pattern and I do own EQ. Would you be willing to tell me which blocks you used? Thank you. Pam

I would love to have this pattern! I have some hand-dyed blue napkins – like a LOT of them, that are going to become a blue and white quilt. I want to do the Storm at Sea and Snail’s Trail combo.
