Oh, on Dec. 17, 1972 my first and only child, a beautiful daughter named Emily was born. The whole month of December has such special meaning for me. It is truly a magical time. Now, I have 4 beautiful grandchildren to share the holidays with, and the best part is that we only live 20 min. away from them now.
    Happy Holidays,

What a fabulous giveaway! What I love most about Christmas is spending time with my family during the several days I take off work. It's a great time to slow down and think about what's important.

  24. Jen says:

My favorite quilting tool has to be my rotary cutter. I know, it's kind of basic, but the few projects I've done where I had hand-cut templates made me appreciate it even more!

  25. Becky says:

I love spending time with family and friends during the holiday season. Flurry and 12 Days of Christmas by Kate Spain are wonderful fabric lines. Thanks for this generous giveaway! Merry Christmas!

  26. mblittle5 says:

My favorite quilting tool is my Puple Thang. It's a plastic stick with a pointy end and a squared off end. It's great for feeding tricky pieces into my sewing machine and holding them in place. I make a great smoother for curved seams. I've used it to push filler into stuffed items like pincushions. Love my Purple Thang.

  27. Sandra :) says:

I love working on handmade Christmas gifts – using up stash or buying new and pretty fabric, finding new patterns to try out (yesterday I bought a reindeer stuffy pattern so I'll be trying that today!), picking fun projects for family or friends 🙂 With the nieces/nephews getting older, the list of babies to sew for is getting longer – I LOVE THAT!

  28. Quilting "b" says:

  30. Anonymous says:

I am following your blog. I just love everything about Christmas – food, lights, decorating, hustle and bustle of buying presents, exchange of presents and all the hugs. Gotta love it. The favorite quilting tool for me is the Thread Cutters. Yes, I would love to own Flurry Jelly Roll. What a quilter couldn't make with this. Ah, the options and decisions. Thank you for your giveway.

One thing I love about Christmas is all the gatherings of family and friends.. It's truly a time for remembering which things in life are really important– a time to open our homes and our hearts! 🙂

  33. Gwen says:

My favorite quilting tool is my sewing machine! 🙂 I have done some hand piecing, and it really gives me a strong respect for those women of olden days who did all their sewing by hand… My sewing machine isn't super fancy or expensive, but she's a hard working girl, and I really do appreciate her! 🙂

  34. Gwen says:

I subscribed to your blog with Google Reader. I'm pretty new to using Google Reader, but it is going to be a great way to keep up with all the new posts from my favorite blogs! Thanks! 🙂

  35. Kathy says:

I have two favorite quilting tools. 1st is my spring loaded Fiskars snippers. Second is my digital camera. It's easier for me to layout my pattern and take a picture of it and then piece it rather than labeling rows with blocks. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway.

  36. Kylie says:

I love getting to spend time with my family over the Christmas season and eating my mother's cranberry fudge. Thank you for the lovely giveaway. kcarlson1152[at]hotmail.com

  38. Joanie's Quilts says:

How did we live without rotary cutters and cutting mats. It used to be scissors all the way. Now we can make quilts faster, but yet still not fast enough when you continue to see incredible new quilts and quilting projects.

  39. Joanie's Quilts says:

You are now on my reading list! I already had your button on my home page. Again looking forward to reading your blog. It is such a well developed and interesting blog. Thank you for your generous give aways!

What I love most about Christmas is getting together with my family. We're scattered around the country and it's wonderful when we can meet up for the holidays. Thanks for the chance to win.

  43. Kathy H says:

One of my favorite tools is the cutting ruler called Shape cut by june taylor. It is marked in 1/2 inch segments and does such a nice job of cutting out blocks or pieces of fabric. There is also a 1/4 inch one that I use occasionally.

  44. Martha says:

I love giving the unexpected gifts at Christmas…something special someone has said they want, but will not buy for themselves…especially if it is handmade…the delight and surprise on their faces is worth millions.

  45. Martha says:

I love my Twisters, both big and small…I get to make quilts that look complicated but really aren't! So many ways to put fabric together. Have a Happy Holiday.

  46. Vance Creve says:

  47. Cat says:

My favorite quilting tool is my Accuquilt cutter. I like the speed & accuracy more as my eyes are getting weaker & I can't see the lines as well as I once did on the rulers.

  48. Marcia W. says:

My favorite tradition of Christmas is when all the family gathers together for a mid-day dinner and exchange presents. This year I will get to watch the faces of 3 grandnieces having their first Christmas.

  49. CC says:

My favorite tool is Guidelines 4 You Prep Tool. I use it all the time to mark accurate 1/4 seams before piecing. I would be lost without it.

  50. CC says:

What I look forward around Christmas time is the cool weather. Around here it's only cool or cold for about 2 or 3 months out of the year – the rest of the time humid and roasting.

  51. Lisa C. in GA says:

I don't think I've entered this…and scrolled through the 453 posts to see, but if I did accidentally please forgive me. There are a lot of cool giveaways going on, and I'm getting confused 😉 My fave Christmas thing is making cookies and homemade mint hot chocolate for my family while they decorate the tree. Recipe on request 😀

  53. justducky65 says:

There are so many things I love about Christmas. Twinkle light, cookies, buying gifts, the feeling of having my family near, snow (if we are lucky enough to have it on Christmas Day), and just sharing the holiday with all my friends and family.

  54. K@ren says:

How generous of you!!! Flurry is sooo beautiful!! I'm dying to get my paws on it!

I love the Christmas spirit the most- the one that gets your children up at 4am… the one that makes people hold doors open for you… the one that makes people excited enough to count down days … love it!!

Thanks for the chance to win a fun prize!! Happy holidays! xo

My favorite thing about Christmas is staying at home on Christmas day with my kids and husband. We stay in our pj's all day, drink hot cocoa, eat leftovers and watch just about every Christmas special ever – especially Charlie Brown Christmas.

  56. Kari says:

My favorite thing about the holidays is just being with family. I always loved sitting down to a big meal, playing 'adult' games after dinner (like trivial pursuit and cribbage – if you thought anything else, then get your head out of the gutter!), sitting around the tree while one of my uncles played santa … good memories!

  57. Kari says:

My favorite quilting tool … I could go sappy and say my husband who has always supported me and allows me to spend the last month of each year doing nothing but sew (and take care of our 2 year old son), or I could go practical and say a binder clip. I use the binder clip to clip my ruler to the cutting mat when making long cuts, I have a bunch of them numbered to keep groups together, I can use them to hang flat objects such as rulers or templates on my peg board – or a group of squares on my design wall, and finally I use the binder clips as clamps to hold down plastic templates on my Hinterberg frame.
Thank-you for the chance to win!

  58. wlstarn says:

Maybe not my favorite tools, but imagine trying to sew without a decent seam ripper that has a handle big enough to hold (not those tiny round ones). These days a needle threader is pretty much essential also!

  59. Sarita says:

My favorite quilting tool is the rotary cutter – it seems simple, but can you imagine cutting a whole quilt's worth of pieces without it?
Thanks for the opportunity to win! 🙂
