I can’t believe it’s September…

…time is flying… only 111 days until Christmas, yikes!
Life has been a little hectic here lately….
okay, it’s always busy… good busy,
but last week was hard and I’m so grateful Hurricane Isaac
didn’t cause much damage to our town,
but must remember to keep those
that have been affected by the flooding in our prayers.
And boy do I take electricity for granted!
Felt so lost without power and cell service for a couple of days…
yeah, that meant no Internet at all!!!
So I didn’t get much sewing done,
but I have to show you what I did finish….
The quilt and leaves are made with Benartex’s Rustling Leaves fabric,
and love, love the pumpkins, berries, and little bird made with hand-dyed wools…
yeah, I love all hand-dyed fabrics and have taken several classes,
now I just need to get busy and practice, he he!
of course, the leaves are also a favorite,
so here it is…
I’m so excited to show you my new Fall pattern!

Speaking of Fall….
have you signed up for …
hosted by Wendy and Mdm. Samm?
I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Hugs,

How very lovely, Cherry… what great imagery!… I live in sunny South Florida, so we have a while to go begore it will feel like fall… but, that leaves time to make things for fall…

This is beautiful! I'm just starting to applique (your owl tutorial was great) so I may get brave and attempt this once I'm a little better at it. I'm glad you weren't hard hit by Isaac, but no power or cell service for a couple days is really tough!

I didn't know you are in the New Orleans area. I'm glad Isaac didn't do too much damage, though I can sure appreciate how difficult it was to be without power! Isaac appeared in our area of Florida as a tropical storm. And as we've lived in Florida only two-and-a-half months (formerly in Iowa), we're very glad it wasn't worse than that. I enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!

Oh, Cherry, that really is beautiful. I love the design, the colors and the glorious quilting you did on it. You really created a stunning piece.

Two days without power would be terrible. We take so much for granted and something like that makes us appreciate our easy life. I'm glad you are back and powered up!!!
