Let’s Celebrate…

Happy 4th of July!
To celebrate,
I’m sharing this little mug rug pattern
and two of the recipes I made for my Perfect Picnic:
Crawfish Casserole
and Three Story Dream Pie,
also known as Mississippi Mud Pie.
This little Uncle Sam’s Bouquet mug rug
finishes at 6″ x 10″ and
is a super easy and fun little project,
perfect for a gift or quick little decoration!
I made it for a Flickr swap some time ago…

 Have you ever had crawfish?
also called mud-bugs?
They really are good with a little sweet taste
and can be found in the freezer isle of your grocery store,
just make sure you only buy a product of the US…
My Aunt Pearl shared this recipe with me
and it has become one of my favorites!
Crawfish Casserole

Ingredients:
1 lb Crawfish tails (I used a 12oz. pack)
1 can French Onion soup
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
1 cup parboiled rice
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup celery, diced
1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
1 can Rotel “Original” tomatoes
Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350° F,
covered for 45 minutes,
then uncover and bake 15 minutes.

Now this one is a favorite dessert of everyone in my family…

Three-Story Dream Pie

This pie is made in layers…
Crust:
1 stick of butter, melted
1 cup flour
1 cup pecans, chopped
1 tsp sugar
Blend the flour, sugar, and butter, then add the pecans.
Press onto a 2 quart baking dish and bake at 350° F
for 20-25 minutes. Set aside to cool.
1st Story:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 package cream cheeses (8 oz)
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup whipped topping
Cream the cheese and powdered sugar until smooth;
add the sour cream and vanilla. Blend in the whipped topping.
Spoon this mix over the Crust and spread carefully.
2nd Story:
2  4.5 oz Instant Chocolate Pudding boxes
3 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
In a mixing bowl, blend the dry chocolate pudding, milk,
and vanilla. Pour over the 1st Story and allow to set.
3rd Story:
2 cups whipped topping
1 Hershey’s chocolate bar
Spread the whipped topping over the 2nd Story
and garnish with grated Hershey’s chocolate,
or use strawberries and blueberries and decorate as an American Flag.
Chill thoroughly and serve.
…yum!
I hope you have an awesome 4th with friends and family!

Thank you for all the inspiration and the directions. I get frustrated when I find things that look so inviting and can't find how to make them. You make it look so easy. TY TY TY!
