Night Sky Mystery Quilt Block

I’m so excited to share my block for the International Association of Quilter’s Mystery Night Sky Quilt!

Trailing Stars

The Trailing Stars block was inspired by the quilt’s theme, Night Sky, and is a fun and easy to piece block… yes, no applique! If you browse through my site you’ll see that I absolutely love applique!

Mystery Night Sky Quilt

You can learn more about this beautiful quilt by visiting my previous post about the IAQ.

I made the block with my latest holiday fabric collection for Comtempo Studio of Benartex, Hearty, filled with sweet snowman and prints perfect for Christmas, winter projects, and much more, in my favorite palette of aquas, reds, greens, white and a touch of grey.

I love the 12″ table-toppers by Ackfeldwire and spray painted this one in aqua… perfect for my new block, now I just need to quilt it and add a little binding for a sweet table decoration.

Trailing Star Runner

This runner uses the Trailing Stars block and the instructions are available to members of IAQ. You can also download the instructions to make a Trailing Stars block here.

Would you like to make the Trailing Stars block in my fabric? And how about the Hearty panel to make a Hearty Snowman pillow?

Enter below… a winner will chosen on March 13, 2019.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Yes, I love panels, especially patriotic panels! I hear that quilts of valor that include patriotic panels are favorites among quilt recipients.

I picked up some aqua Christmas fabric this year not knowing what for but your block is great for that color scheme. Panels are great for getting a quilt done in a short time.

I’ve done several quilts with panels. I love them if they are cute correctly. Your snowman is so cute and I love your stars. That runner is so pretty. It’s perfect for this endless winter.

I never worked with panels, but I’m a newbie at quilting. I’m sure I will quilt with panels in the future.

I like using panels to practice my FMQ. I can trace shapes or meander inside blocks. It has been helping me to get comfortable with stopping and starting and moving around evenly.

I like certain types of panels. Have been making quilt tiles out of some of them. Great for fund raiser auctions. Use them also in baby quilts.
