XOXO…

It’s my day in the fun Hugs & Kisses Hop!
First I want to thank our
great hostesses for organizing this hop:
and Mdm Samm of Sew We Quilt,
and all the participants that are making this
such an inspiring event.
These are the ladies sharing their Hugs & Kisses today:

Wednesday February 13th

°Ü°
I only had time for these quick projects,
and really enjoyed working on this little
Mini Valentine using Marjorie’s
Candy Hearts embroidery designs
that work with the Accuquilt GO! Hearts 2″ die.
I also wanted a Valentine’s mug rug,
so decided on a little quick project
by embroidering this fun design
from Embroidery Library
Would you like to make this little mug rug?
I made a little kit with the
embroidered “latte”
and 5 Fat Quarters to giveaway Ü
To enter, just leave me a sweet comment
and tell me what size and type of quilts
you enjoy making!
I’ll choose a winner next Monday, 2.18.2013
Thank you so much for visiting today!

Both of your projects are fantastic! I love the polka dot binding and the use of white for the background. It really makes the quilting show up really nice.

I like to make projects lap size or smaller … mug rugs, potholders, coasters, table toppers/runners, totes, purses, coin purses, etc.

  2. Catskill Quilter says:

Lately I have been working on bed sized quilts, but my favorite size is a potholder, and I am loving mug rugs! That is big enough to really test a new technique, but small enough to finish. Loved your mug rug and your hearts mini quilt!

  3. Judy B says:

Both of your Hugs & Kisses are wonderful! I tend to keep my projects small, table topper size. Just discovered mug rugs and I am in love! Fantastic giveaway. jbechosend at sbcglobal dot net

  4. vicki says:

I am new enough at this that I haven't finished a quilt yet, so..I'd have to say lap size or smaller right now. Love your projects. Thanks for the giveaway. vickise at gmail dot com

  5. Scrapatches says:

Your projects are sew sweet. I love 'em a latte. I like to make bed size quilts the most, but I enjoy making all sizes from keychains to kings. Thanks for sharing the love … 🙂 Pat

  6. lynaeve says:

thanks for the chance! The only quilts I've ever actually finished were doll quilts. I love making them because they take just a few minutes here and there throughout the day. But i have really been wanting to make a large quilt lately.

  7. Nati says:

Very cute pojects! Would love to win the kit for my own mug rug… I drink lattes! I love making baby size quilts, they are easy to manage and quick to make!

  8. Lesley says:

Both your projects are beautiful! Love your mini- quilt…great colors and quilting, and your mug rug is too cute! Thank you for the chance to win this special package of embroidery and FQs…very generous and I would love to create a treasure with it!

  9. Britt-Inger says:

Your two projects are so beautiful and I would love to win your special mug rug package. I mostly make lap size quilts, love to make purses and table cloths of different sizes.
    Thanks for sharing

  10. tink's mom says:

Love both of your pieces. The quilting on both of them is wonderful and ties the pieces together sew well. Thanks for taking part in this Hop. Oh, and I like to make afghan size quilts.

  11. Luz2Quilt says:

Thank you for the opportunity. I love your designs and choice of quilting. As my blog name implies (Luz2Quilt), I have no particular favorite size or type of quilts…I love it all and can't do enough of it! (charity, art, wallhanging, bed, postcards, etc.) Thank you.

  12. Katie says:

cherry your pieces are great and I am always a fan of puns. I enjoy making all sizes of quilts mostly lap because they are easier to manage in my space. I am working more right now on learning ot make smaller quilts which supprisingly I have found difficult in the past because I want ot add all the fabrics into the project and then it just grows much larger than expected. This might explain why my first pp project was supposed ot be 45 x 50 (double throw) and turned out at 90 x 100 (super queen). I'm in the hop today as well and thanks for shouting out to the rest of us.

  13. Shauna says:

Thank you for the chance, both pieces you created are wonderful. I am new to quilting but so far my favorite size is a large lap quilt. Although I m working on my first mug rug.

  14. Quiltsmiles says:

Your projects are both so sweet! I really don't have a preferred size to make, just whatever strikes my fancy when I'm creating though with bed quilts I usually tend to have a go large or go home mental attitude.

  15. Karen says:

I love your little pieces… they are "sweet"… they make me wish I had a machine to do embroidery, but I don't… so, perhaps I'll have a chance for the next best option, which would be to acquire an embroidered piece… I would like that "a latte"…

  16. Thearica says:

Oh no! Now you have me really excited! Thank you for the chance to win this! My hubby has to have coffee every morning or he gets cranky! and then again so does my sister! So, if I won, who would I make this for? lol

  17. Dorothy Thornton says:

i love both your projects. i usually make twin size quilts. lap quilts are nice but when my family sits on the couch they like quilts big enough to cover them from head to feet so the twin size works well for this.

  18. Sowing Stitches says:

🙂 The conversation hearts Sweetness! I am enjoying seeing everyone's different approach…each has given me very different ideas for future projects! Love your quilted hearts in the border. I make giant quilts most of the time but lately the mug rug bug has been fighting for the top of the heap!

  19. Christine L says:

Those are my Favorite Candies during the holiday!! My DH and I will read them to each other out loud and giggle as we do. Your work is always so Beautiful! Hugs and Happy Heart day. I love to make mini's anymore and the occasional full size *giggle*. Thanks for a chance to win some Fun!

  20. Gwen says:

Wow! Your projects look absolutely perfect! I would love to do more machine embroidery in my projects. I usually gravitate towards making wall hangings and table runners, although I seem to be making lots of bed-size quilts lately. But I am an instant gratification-kind of person and the small projects give me that.

  21. Deborah says:

Lap sized quilts or baby quilts are what I normally make, but I have plans to make a few mini-quilts this year too. Love your latte mug rug – I love my lattes too!

  22. Cindy says:

Ooh, I "heart" mugrugs and your sentiment on your mug rug is adorable! I love mug rug-mini-to-small-to-little Quilts. Anything from an 8" square to a Little Quilt of 24" sq.

  23. Cliodana says:

wow… i'm in love!!! the quilting with those hearts are amazing very pretty and the mug rug is just perfect for valentin's day! beautiful. thank's for the chance to win. My favorite size of quilt is baby quilt because it's quick to make but i always beging longer projet as a double bed size quilt… making forever to finish it 🙂 have a nice valentin's day

  24. Mommarock says:

Oh gosh if I could only decide on one type of quilt I like to make! I want to make them ALL!! One thing I know is that I love hand work. I like to sit in the evening and work with my hands in front of the television. I did just buy a sewing machine recently, and I'm trying to love that more.. not so much!! I need to get to know it more so that I can get more quilting done. My speed at quilting matches that of a snail!!

  25. JudyCinNC says:

I love making the smaller quilts – lap size for wheelchairs at the nursing homes; crib size for the new babies at the local hospital; twin size for Quilts for Kids; and sofa throws for my family quilts. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity to win your wonderful gifts. Your blog is always so enjoyable and amazing – I am a devoted follower. Judy C in NC

  26. Charlene S says:

I enjoy making quilts that cover a body. From wheelchairs, to car seats, to sofas, to beds, and beyond, if it covers a person then it is my kind of quilt. Although lately I have been working on doll and dog quilts b/c my granddaughter says they need covering too.

  27. Linda says:

Both of your projects are just adorable! You did a great job on the quilting, too!!
I make mostly lap sized quilts. It is too hot here to put quilts on our beds, but it is nice to wrap up in one when the air conditioning gets too cold!!! 🙂

  28. Rosa says:

Wow,love them both.Just beautiful.I used to make lap,for sofa and for gift and twin sized for someone special or for me,but any size quilt is welcome.

  29. KatheG says:

OH, what sweet projects you made. Love them both and I was admiring your machine quilting too. Great designs. thanks for sharing. Lately I enjoy making small quilts since I have made a lot of big ones.

  31. Pierro says:

Rosemary B here: Cherry, your projects are always so adorable and bright and perky! I love the candy hearts, and of course the Latte banner, sooo cute.
Thank you for sharing your creativity.
Now… what size quilts huh…. ?? I have never ever ever made a big quilt. That is my goal for 2013. Maybe I have quiltaphobia, but I am going to conquer it this year and make a quilt next month.
So, now you know… don't tell anyone.
I do like making little projects because I do not get tired of doing the project before it is completed – which might be the foundation of the aforesaid affiction.
Thank you for asking such a sensitive question lolol

  32. Sandra says:

You have made 2 adorable projects to share with us. I have always wanted to make a mug rug myself. I enjoy making pieced or scrap quilts for either lap-sized or queen. Thank you for giving all of your followers a chance to win the adorable kit with 5 fat quarters and making the Hugs and Kisses Blog Hop so much fun. Happy Valentine's Day.

  33. StitchinByTheLake says:

Wonderful projects Cherry! I love them both and am totally jealous – I used to have an embroidery machine but had to give it up because I ran out of room in my sewing studio. Sad but true – sewing "stuff" tends to overrun at my house. 🙂 blessings, marlene

  34. Alexander says:

Hi Cherry, you design such unique projects. How can anyone not love the creative juices that flow from your hands and mind. So yes I would love to win. Now I am a big project girl. The larger the better, I love blocks of the month for instance. Thank you for the opportunity.
