It’s my day in the fun Hugs & Kisses Hop!
First I want to thank our
great hostesses for organizing this hop:
Jane of Jane’s Fabrics and Quilts
and Mdm Samm of Sew We Quilt,
and all the participants that are making this
such an inspiring event.
These are the ladies sharing their Hugs & Kisses today:
Wednesday February 13th
°Ü°
I only had time for these quick projects,
and really enjoyed working on this little
Mini Valentine using Marjorie’s
Candy Hearts embroidery designs
that work with the Accuquilt GO! Hearts 2″ die.
I also wanted a Valentine’s mug rug,
so decided on a little quick project
by embroidering this fun design
from Embroidery Library
Would you like to make this little mug rug?
I made a little kit with the
embroidered “latte”
and 5 Fat Quarters to giveaway Ü
To enter, just leave me a sweet comment
and tell me what size and type of quilts
you enjoy making!
I’ll choose a winner next Monday, 2.18.2013
Thank you so much for visiting today!
Lovely designs for Valentines. I like to make small mini quilts and home decor items. Your mug mat design would be a loved addition. Sharyn:)
Both of your projects are fantastic! I love the polka dot binding and the use of white for the background. It really makes the quilting show up really nice.
I like to make projects lap size or smaller … mug rugs, potholders, coasters, table toppers/runners, totes, purses, coin purses, etc.
Lately I have been working on bed sized quilts, but my favorite size is a potholder, and I am loving mug rugs! That is big enough to really test a new technique, but small enough to finish. Loved your mug rug and your hearts mini quilt!
Both of your Hugs & Kisses are wonderful! I tend to keep my projects small, table topper size. Just discovered mug rugs and I am in love! Fantastic giveaway. jbechosend at sbcglobal dot net
Very cute! Love both your projects, especially the mug rug. Thanks for the giveaway!
I'm mad for cute mug rugs, and I love yours. Both projects looks cute but quick to finish.
I am new enough at this that I haven't finished a quilt yet, so..I'd have to say lap size or smaller right now. Love your projects. Thanks for the giveaway. vickise at gmail dot com
Your projects are sew sweet. I love 'em a latte. I like to make bed size quilts the most, but I enjoy making all sizes from keychains to kings. Thanks for sharing the love … 🙂 Pat
thanks for the chance! The only quilts I've ever actually finished were doll quilts. I love making them because they take just a few minutes here and there throughout the day. But i have really been wanting to make a large quilt lately.
Very cute pojects! Would love to win the kit for my own mug rug… I drink lattes! I love making baby size quilts, they are easy to manage and quick to make!
Both projects are so sweet. But I reall love your mug rug. It is so cute! I love to make lap-size quilts and everything smaller, lol!
I loved both of your projects and would love to win your mug rug gift. I usually do small quilts and other small projects.
Both your projects are beautiful! Love your mini- quilt…great colors and quilting, and your mug rug is too cute! Thank you for the chance to win this special package of embroidery and FQs…very generous and I would love to create a treasure with it!
Your two projects are so beautiful and I would love to win your special mug rug package. I mostly make lap size quilts, love to make purses and table cloths of different sizes.
Thanks for sharing
Wow
Gerry and you know I love you latte..lol even if I don't win, I will just order this from you…I want a mug rug too..lol both your projects I love a latte much
Cherry not Gerry lol. Who is Gerry?
Love both of your pieces. The quilting on both of them is wonderful and ties the pieces together sew well. Thanks for taking part in this Hop. Oh, and I like to make afghan size quilts.
Thank you for the opportunity. I love your designs and choice of quilting. As my blog name implies (Luz2Quilt), I have no particular favorite size or type of quilts…I love it all and can't do enough of it! (charity, art, wallhanging, bed, postcards, etc.) Thank you.
cherry your pieces are great and I am always a fan of puns. I enjoy making all sizes of quilts mostly lap because they are easier to manage in my space. I am working more right now on learning ot make smaller quilts which supprisingly I have found difficult in the past because I want ot add all the fabrics into the project and then it just grows much larger than expected. This might explain why my first pp project was supposed ot be 45 x 50 (double throw) and turned out at 90 x 100 (super queen). I'm in the hop today as well and thanks for shouting out to the rest of us.
Thank you for the chance, both pieces you created are wonderful. I am new to quilting but so far my favorite size is a large lap quilt. Although I m working on my first mug rug.
I love both of your projects a latte! Beautiful quilting!
Such a cute mug rug. Love your little quilt too. I like to make baby and lap size mostly. Those I can quilt myself. I have made a few mug rugs.
The mug rug is adorable! I love to make quilts of all sizes.
I've mostly made small quilts, but I'm branching out a bit to try bigger sizes. Love your conversation hearts and the heart quilting in the border!
Your projects are both so sweet! I really don't have a preferred size to make, just whatever strikes my fancy when I'm creating though with bed quilts I usually tend to have a go large or go home mental attitude.
As I have gotten order, I enjoy making mini quilts now. Beautiful and such great inspiration
As ALWAYS, your work is fabulous! I make all kinds of sizes, but like to make lap sized quilts that I can quilt myself. Thanks for the great giveaway!
Adorable projects! I especially enjoy making lap quilts and baby quilts and using lots of different fabrics.
Lovely projects!
I love your little pieces… they are "sweet"… they make me wish I had a machine to do embroidery, but I don't… so, perhaps I'll have a chance for the next best option, which would be to acquire an embroidered piece… I would like that "a latte"…
I love your two projects – especially the hearts mini quilt!
I like to make lap sized quilts
Thank you for sharing!
For some reason I like working on quilts that are a queen size.
campbellamyd at gmail dot com
Oh my, that mug rug is totally ADORABLE! I tend to make lap-sized quilts for myself because the kids love to have them over their feet on the sofa. Thanks for such a wonderful giveaway!
Oh no! Now you have me really excited! Thank you for the chance to win this! My hubby has to have coffee every morning or he gets cranky! and then again so does my sister! So, if I won, who would I make this for? lol
and I almost forgot but I like to make quilts to fit the bed… I also do a few small quilts but not too many… I use quilts on my bed 365 days a year. 🙂
i love both your projects. i usually make twin size quilts. lap quilts are nice but when my family sits on the couch they like quilts big enough to cover them from head to feet so the twin size works well for this.
Thanks for the chance to win this little kit. Love the sweet design.I like to work on any size quilt that I actually finish 🙂
What sweet projects! I usually make throw-sized quilts because I like to cover my bottom half while I'm sitting on the couch in the evening.
What a sweetie of a quilt and I love the heart quilting all around/
🙂 The conversation hearts Sweetness! I am enjoying seeing everyone's different approach…each has given me very different ideas for future projects! Love your quilted hearts in the border. I make giant quilts most of the time but lately the mug rug bug has been fighting for the top of the heap!
Those are my Favorite Candies during the holiday!! My DH and I will read them to each other out loud and giggle as we do. Your work is always so Beautiful! Hugs and Happy Heart day. I love to make mini's anymore and the occasional full size *giggle*. Thanks for a chance to win some Fun!
Wow! Your projects look absolutely perfect! I would love to do more machine embroidery in my projects. I usually gravitate towards making wall hangings and table runners, although I seem to be making lots of bed-size quilts lately. But I am an instant gratification-kind of person and the small projects give me that.
Love both projects. I usually make throw sized or child sized quilts. But I do have a queen-sized quilt on the back burner. Thanks.
Lap sized quilts or baby quilts are what I normally make, but I have plans to make a few mini-quilts this year too. Love your latte mug rug – I love my lattes too!
What a great mug rug! I enjoy making large quilts, and making a few small things along side that. Mini quilts, pillows or mug rugs.
Very pretty. The mug rug turned out nice and thanks for having a give away.
this is sew cute! both of them…
Ooh, I "heart" mugrugs and your sentiment on your mug rug is adorable! I love mug rug-mini-to-small-to-little Quilts. Anything from an 8" square to a Little Quilt of 24" sq.
Such a cute mug rug. I usually make throw size quilts.
I love your mug rug…said as I drink my morning coffee. I am a lap quilt girl. Anything bigger gets me frustrated.
I enjoy making small quick quilt projects, though I do have a few large unfinished quilts patiently waiting for me to attend to them again.

My favorite size of quilt is baby quilt because it's quick to make but i always beging longer projet as a double bed size quilt… making forever to finish it 🙂 have a nice valentin's day
Oh gosh if I could only decide on one type of quilt I like to make! I want to make them ALL!! One thing I know is that I love hand work. I like to sit in the evening and work with my hands in front of the television. I did just buy a sewing machine recently, and I'm trying to love that more.. not so much!! I need to get to know it more so that I can get more quilting done. My speed at quilting matches that of a snail!!
I love making the smaller quilts – lap size for wheelchairs at the nursing homes; crib size for the new babies at the local hospital; twin size for Quilts for Kids; and sofa throws for my family quilts. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity to win your wonderful gifts. Your blog is always so enjoyable and amazing – I am a devoted follower. Judy C in NC
I enjoy making quilts that cover a body. From wheelchairs, to car seats, to sofas, to beds, and beyond, if it covers a person then it is my kind of quilt. Although lately I have been working on doll and dog quilts b/c my granddaughter says they need covering too.
Love the latte quilt! I usually make lap sized quilts, but have made lots of different sizes
Ohhhhhh I love them both latte!! 🙂
Cherry, these are two darling little projects!! I used to make large quilts, but not so much anymore.
What adorable projects! I usually make my quilts between lap and twin sized. Thanks for the chance to win!
Both of your projects are just adorable! You did a great job on the quilting, too!!
I make mostly lap sized quilts. It is too hot here to put quilts on our beds, but it is nice to wrap up in one when the air conditioning gets too cold!!! 🙂
It looks like you made the most of your limited time! Darling quilt and mug rug!
Wow,love them both.Just beautiful.I used to make lap,for sofa and for gift and twin sized for someone special or for me,but any size quilt is welcome.

Now… what size quilts huh…. ?? I have never ever ever made a big quilt. That is my goal for 2013. Maybe I have quiltaphobia, but I am going to conquer it this year and make a quilt next month.
So, now you know… don't tell anyone.
I do like making little projects because I do not get tired of doing the project before it is completed – which might be the foundation of the aforesaid affiction.
Thank you for asking such a sensitive question lolol
Making wall hangings and table toppers right now!
Love what you made- have to check out the embroidery for the Accuquilt hearts!
You have made 2 adorable projects to share with us. I have always wanted to make a mug rug myself. I enjoy making pieced or scrap quilts for either lap-sized or queen. Wonderful projects Cherry! I love them both and am totally jealous – I used to have an embroidery machine but had to give it up because I ran out of room in my sewing studio. Sad but true – sewing "stuff" tends to overrun at my house. 🙂 blessings, marlene

I love your mug rug and your mini quilt. I was never too fond of those candies to eat but I liked reading all the sayings on them. So far I have only made peiced lap size quilts but once I get the hang of free motion quilting I want to try something a little bigger and also try making an appliqued quilt.
Wonderful projects! The mug rug would be perfect for my daughter, who loves her lattes. I make quilts of all sizes. The bed size ones are harder to quilt on a domestic machine but I want them, so I make them. Thanks for the giveaway.

I've made a lot of baby quilts. But my favorite is the mini 12 x 12 quilts. I love to change out my decoration in the home and these help out a lot. Another size I've made a lot of are the lap quilts. Love your projects. Fun Hop.
Most of my quilts end up huge. I'm starting to make smaller ones I can machine quilt myself
Love your mug rug
I love your projects. They are great inspirations. I tend to make larger quilts, usually queen size quilts. I'm trying to make smaller quilts. Right now I'm working on two baby quilts for twins – a great niece and great nephew. I'm down to binding and labels on each. They are from the same fabrics and the same pattern. The fabrics are just placed a little differently.
Thanks for taking time to blog and inspire me and, I'm sure, many, many others. You are very generous with your giveaway.
Love those projects! My favorite size quilt is a lap quilt. I have so many! But they are so much faster!

I would LOVE to make that mug rug, I adore it! It's just brilliant! Thank you so much for the chance!
Your creations are WONDERFUL! Mmmmmm, what size and type of quilts do I like to make? I guess I would have to say just about anythign. I love to make bed quilts, knowing that they will keep my loved ones warm at night, but I also love to make little ones that add just the right touch to my home decor. I'm not a huge fan of applique, (me doing the work) but I do love the look of the finished project.
Thanks for sharing your creations today. 🙂
Lovely projects, Love the Latte!
Love…love….love…your valentine quilts and what a great giveaway….thanks
I really like making wall hangings for the holidays. They are the perfect size for a last minute crafter like me to get done before each holiday rolls around!
Wow, the projects are lovely and the quilting you did just puts them right over the top! Wonderful. Obviously you have made better friends with your machine than I have!
I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
I just love, love, love your candy hearts. So perfect for the holiday. Though I've made mostly full size quilts for others, I really like doing minis.
Sweet comment: honey.
I am a scrap quilter, big-time.
Fell for the Latte..I love drinking my tea and coffee..Do mug rugs and twin up to king quilts as well as lap quilts.
Beautiful designs ,please keep up the great work….selahwoman@gmail.com
Congrats on your creative win! I love the latte design and hope I win the kit. My entire kitchen is in coffee-latte decor! Right now I am into baby quilts but can be distracted to NY size quilt at the drop of a latte! LOL
