Day 5 is here!

Are you having fun? It has been a fabulous week, filled with gorgeous blocks! We gathered ten designers and asked them to create a block with the theme: “Moving forward… separate but working together, inspired by life under quarantine!” Our goal: to inspire you to create and bring a little joy into your life during these hard times!

Blocks and optional layouts for all the blocks shared in the hop were created in Electric Quilt, a great tool for quilters.

Hope

Rainbows are a sign of hope, filled with color… and color makes me smile!! My block is about having faith and trusting things will get better, about love, and being kind to yourself and to others.

One of my favorite quilt blocks is the Dresden and this was the perfect opportunity to play with this fun design. I made this little sample with my new collection, Planted With Love and used a 10″ squares pack. You can find the Hope block here: https://www.cherryblossomsquilting.com/product/hope/

I had a great time playing with all the designer blocks and various layouts! I place the blocks on point, repeated several of the blocks, added a tiny 1/2″ sashing strip in the soft grey, white corner stones, and a multi-color binding.

Which do you like better, the light background?

… or the dark?

I hope you’ve enjoyed our hop and had a chance to visit all the participants. Blocks will be available as a free download through Saturday, July 18, 2020, so make sure to visit the other designer’s blogs:

Tamarinis
Laura Piland
Sherry Shish
Amy Friend
Kate Colleran
Becky Jorgensen
Leanne Parsons
Patti Carey
Swan Sheridan

I haven’t had the time to visit each designer but after seeing your quilt I’ll try to get those visits in tonight. Personally I like the gray back ground as it makes the colors pop. The White is a softer look.

I love how the blog hop wrapped up with your block “Hope!” We all could use a little more of it these days. Perfect block for a perfect ending. Thank you for participating Cherry! Such a fun blog hop. Will be back to peek at your store with my hot cup of chocolate, watching Hallmark Christmas movies and keeping cool during our heat wave. I need to do some Christmas shopping, so I’ll be back 🙂 (not trying to use my Arnold voice!)

Thank you for your participation and contribution. I prefer the dark layout as it makes the colors in the layout pop.
