a walk down memory lane…

Sweet memories! I joined the Benartex family back in 2014 and Frosty Forest was my first collection.

It was very exciting and a bit scary at the same time… yup, I had no idea what I was doing and had to figure out the whole fabric thing in a very short period of time, but the Benartex folks were fabulous and oh so helpful… so grateful to work with an awesome art team!

Do you remember Frosty Forest? I started out with my favorite palette of aquas, bright greens and reds, a little grey and a fun Christmas theme inspired by my quilt, Night Owl, that features my little owl Sam and his forest friends. Of course, we had to add a sweet snowman, peppermints, cute trees, little gifts, ornaments and a little snow!

Do you have one of these patterns?

Frosty’s Wonderland was so fun to create, even though I went a little crazy when it came time to add buttons… yes, there are a bit too many buttons on this one, and promise, I will not make you sew so many buttons again, haha!

Frosty was fun and sweet! Inspired by my first quilt design, Feathered Christmas, I wanted to create a snowman made of swirls, snowflakes and paisley shapes… yeah, quite a few little circles to applique, but I think it’s worth the extra work!

Of course, a tree skirt was a must, so I designed Let it Snow, super easy to applique and assemble.

You can find these patterns here and if you enjoy appliqueing with your embroidery machine, Frosty is also available with In-the-Hoop applique.

Do you have a favorite Christmas or quilt? Would you like a little bundle of Frosty Forest fabric?

I love everything about this. I bought Frosty’s Wonderland a few years ago when I first started this adventure of quilting and appliqué! I would love the in the hoop designs if available, now that I’m into machine embroidery! So glad I found you! Looking forward to more adventures! Love all your color pallets!

I’m better at completing Christmas projects for others than for our family–I have several Christmas quilts-in-progress that I need to finish up!

I like your colors & your winter designs as they don’t need to disappear at the beginning of January. My 1 quilted Christmas wall hanging I bought at a flea market. Maybe if I’m the winner I can get started for next year.
